Just Back from Chicago

I was back visiting one of my favorite cities for the All Things Organic show. Celia and I fit a run in on Wednesday morning and visited the Green Market for some early summer berries and fresh herbs. I was fortunate to spend a year in Chicago when my husband was at North Western University for his MBA. If I had thicker skin and could hack a 30 degree April, I would move back in a heart beat. The people, culture, history, and FOOD rank it as one of my favorite spots in the US.


Speaking of food….Taleggio flat bread with truffle oil, Brussels sprouts and shaved fennel salad, sour cherry pound cake...all mouthwateringly DELICIOUS and served up at one of my favorite restaurants anywhere, Avec, in Chicago! Koren Grieveson, the chef, brings s

ome of the most simple, yet complex, flavors together and always has me inspired.


I also had the chance to go to one of my other favorite restaurants...Art Smith's Table 52. The biscuits out of the wood burning oven make my mouth water just thinking of them. When you walk into this little jewel box tucked away on Elm street you feel as if you are in Art’s ho

me kitchen (a fancy one at that).  Make sure and check it out if you are in Chicago (but make reservations!)
